In der sogenannten Rainbow List der britischen Online-Zeitung The Independent belegte Scott 2014 Platz 22 der 101 ‘lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender people who make a real difference’.

Barry Duffield was born in Billingham, UK. He immigrated to Australia with his family at an age of seven and they settled in the Bauxite mining town of Nhulunbuy, Northern Territory.

His first foray into film was when he “borrowed” his fathers super-8mm-camera and created the all singing, all dancing, stop-motion Salt’N’Pepper Shaker Show. There was a guest appearance by a partially consumed milkshake in a frosty glass, which still remains uncredited to this day.

Barry was taught to run the projection booth of the Gove Cinema after being caught stealing movie posters from the foyer and given a choice, police, parents, or honest work. It wasn’t long before Duffield was splicing film, changing out carbon rods, and managing reel changes like a pro.

His passion for all things film grew and he eventually went to South Seas Film and Television School in Auckland, New Zealand, where he majored in screenwriting and directing.

Barry Duffield began his acting career in Darwin with a Kawasaki TVC, and then Brisbane with work on Australia’s Most Wanted, and Escape from Absolom. He followed this up with a move to New Zealand where he appeared on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess, Young Hercules, Jack of all Trades, Shortland Street, Street Legal, Field Punishment #1, The Monster of Treasure Island, and Spartacus playing Lugo. Since the ending of the show, Barry has continued to work in acting.

Furthermore Barry has two successful graphic novels currently on Amazon and is moving into producing.

The role of Lugo

In Spartacus, Barry Duffiled plays the role of Lugo, a germanic warrior captured by romans and transported as a slave to Neapolis. Released by Spartacus (Liam McIntyre) und Agron (Dan Feuerriegel), he later becomes one of the high-ranking rebels. Lugo is one of the few neapolitan germans who are able to speak both germanic and latin, which is why he can also communicate with Spartacus and others. Like the rest of his group, he enjoys fighting and drinking. Despite that his life consists mainly of drinking, he is very loyal to Spartacus, of whom he believes he is strong and worthy.

The people who have proved to him that they are strong and respectable, he feels as brothers and is absolutely loyal to these.

Nicole de Boer, born in Toronto, Ontario Canada, started what would later become her acting career, in her early childhood, appearing in theatre productions and commercials. At the age of eleven she debuted in her first TV movie. From the mid-1980s there were appearances in a variety of – mostly Canadian – independent movies and series, among which several episodes of the sucessful Canadian sketch show Kids in the Hall and the cinematic spinoff Brain Candy.

Nicole played the female lead in the Canadian Science Fiction series Deepwater Black. With David Hewlett she co-starred in the low-budget thriller Cube, which won the Toronto Film Festival.

Between 1998 and 1999 Nicole de Boer played in the seventh and final season of science fiction TV show Star Trek: Deep Space Nine the role of Ezri Dax replacing Jadzia Dax, played by Terry Farrell. From 2002 to 2007 she stood in front of the camera for the US television series Dead Zone, based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel of the same name, playing the female lead – Sarah Bannerman. In 2008 she also made a guest appearance in the fifth season of Sci-fi series Stargate Atlantis as Dr. Alison Porter.

In 2010 de Boer was seen, amongst others, in the horror movie Suck and as a guest star on the fantasy series Haven, a role which she reprised in another episode in 2013.

Having previously worked with Nicole de Boer at a FedCon, it was a mutual delight to meet the amiable actress again at the first Comic Con Germany.

Aaron Douglas was born in New Westminster, a suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia. The family lived in Vancouver until Aaron was 10, at which time they moved to a town in the interior of the province of British Columbia, Creston. There he attended the Prince Charles Secondary School as a teenager and acted in school productions, played in a rock band and participated in community theater. At the age of 26, Aaron quit his job and moved back to Vancouver to pursue a career in acting. He studied at Canada’s famed William Davis Centre for Actors Study at VanArts.

After completing the program at VanArts, Aaron performed with the Okanagan Shakespeare Company in Canada. Many of Douglas early acting jobs were the result of his work as a “reader” for auditions. His job was to read the other side of the dialogue for the person auditioning for a role. Often, after the audition was finished, the director would turn to him and say something like, “You know that cop role with three lines, do you want to do it?” He began building his resume off those small parts.

Aaron Douglas is best known for his role as Galen Tyrol on the Sci Fi Channel’s television program Battlestar Galactica but he also headlined on the CTV drama The Bridge, which was picked up by CBS for broadcast in the United States. Douglas played Frank Leo, a charismatic police union leader who is simultaneously battling criminals on the street while facing down corruption within the ranks of his own department. Aaron starred alongside fellow Battlestar Galactica actor Paul Campbell in a Syfy original movie, Killer Mountain.

Aaron loves of hockey and has been on skates since he was 2 years old. He still plays hockey as an adult, usually as a goalie. He is a devoted Vancouver Canucks fan and can usually be found at home games screaming at the referees along with friends and fellow Sci-Fi alums Daniel Bacon, Dan Payne, and Ryan Robbins. He is also an avid fan of Wil Wheaton from Star Trek: The Next Generation. Douglas has admitted to going “fangirl” on him when meeting Wheaton for the first time at a convention.

We got the chance to meet and work with Aaron Douglas when he attended FedCon and where we could have done this fantastic photo.

Terry Farrell, born as Theresa Lee Farrell Grussendorf in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, is an American actress and former model. She is most famous for her roles as Jadzia Dax in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Reggie in the Sitcom Becker.

Farrell grew up in Boston. At the age of 15 she left her hometown to live in Mexico City as an exchange student. It was during that time that she discovered her love for big cities and soon after submitted her photo to the Elite modeling Agency in New York. Shortly after her sixteenth birthday she was duly invited there and within two days landed an exclusive contract with Mademoisell magazine.

After 18 months of working as a model for commercial stills she started acting studies with Kate McGregor Stewart and henceforth her modelling career was only pursued on occasion. Her first roles of note were in the short-lived TV series Paper Dolls, where she played a model and in the feature film Back to School with Rodney Dangerfield. In the spring of 1989 she continued studing drama with Stella Adler and appeared in guest-starring roles on TV shows such as Quantum Leap and The Cosby Show. In 1992 she played the female lead in the movie Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth. Subsequently in the following year she was offered a lead role on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Having played the role of science officer Jadzia Dax for six years Terry decided that she didn’t wish to renew her contract for the final season and her character was killed off in the season 6 finale of the show. Her role was continued under the name of Ezri Dax played by Nicole de Boer. Upon leaving Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Farrell was offered the role of cafe owner Reggie on the TV show Becker. She played the character for four years until the producers decided to replace her with Nancy Tarvis.

The asteroid discovered on April 23, 2001 by Canadian astronomer William Kwong Yu Yeung has been renamed 26734 Terryfarrell in her honor by the International Astronomical Union on March 28th 2002.

It was our great joy and honour to get the opportunity to meet and work with Terry Farrell at the 25th Anniversary FedCon.

Tadhg Murphy is an irish actor, born in Dublin and best known for his role of the one-eyed Arne in the television series Vikings.

But whether as Arne in Vikings, Edward Lowe in the pirate adventures Black Sails, in the history movie Alexander or in the fun romance Boy eats GirlTadhg Murphy leaves a lasting impression with his likeable spectacle. That is also not unnoticed by the directors. Tadhg was just seen in the challenging drama Lost in the Living and was hired in 2017 for the miniseries Will and Guerilla.

Not often I write personal stories about one of our photo shoots. But at Taghd I make an exception. The most distinctive mark as Arne in Vikings is his eye patch. What you might not know: Taghd got in an accident at the age of 13 years, losing his right eye, as a homemade arrow hit him in the face. But the actor is openly order. During our photo shoot at Medieval Fantasy Convention, he suddenly asked me, “Should I take out my eye?” – Since I was a little perplexed at first, I answered without thinking: “Of course, why not…” But Tadhg made sure prefer again: “Are you sure you can handle it?” Again, the answer was “Yes”, without any thinking… So this probably really unique portrait was the result.
