Karen Fukuhara is an American actress. She is known for her role of Tatsu Yamashiro / Katana in the 2016 DC superhero film Suicide Squad.
Fukuhara was born in Los Angeles, California. While attending UCLA, she continued to work on numerous shows on NHK in Japan, most notably those on the Disney Channel as a member of Movie Surfers. She was also involved in a cappella group during her college career.
Karen made her big screen debut as Tatsu Yamashiro / Katana in Suicide Squad, which was released in August 2016. Although she has prior martial arts experience with a brown striped belt in karate, Fukuhara trained alongside her castmates during about two months of pre-production in order to learn how to wield a sword correctly.
We met Karen Fukuhara during her appearance at Comic Con Germany, where we had the chance to get a portrait fotoshoot.
